About the House

This beautiful and entirely private compound has been recently refurbished to the highest quality with no expense spared. Set in the shadow of the Hollywood Sign the house nestles high above the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles. Ensconced within an Urban Wilderness the house is 50 meters from the entrance to Griffith Park and a 30 minute hike up to the sign.

The house was originally built in 1953 and has an entertainment heavy history of previous owners; most notably John Fusciante of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Approached via an automatic gate leading on to a 6 car driveway, and a pedestrian gate. Both activated by two iPads wall mounted within the house, these also control the lights, outside pool, security alarm and Sonos system throughout the house.

Inside

The Kitchen is fully stocked and beautifully appointed with views across the dining area to the pool. Double door fridge freezer with water and ice, Wolf range, fitted dishwasher (supplied with detergent tablets) and everything else you would expect to find in a quality home; Nespresso machine with stocked bowl of pods, Nespresso milk frother, Nutribullet with various containers to juice on the go, water bottles for hiking, Sodastream carbonated drink maker for environmentally friendly sparkling water and drinks, ice machine and water filter, Dualit toaster, dinner service for 14, serving bowls and platters, tumblers including wine and cocktail glasses.

Beyond the Kitchen is a large dining area overlooking the outside pool. A bespoke table seats 8 – 10 people comfortably. There is also a large day bed and formal chair, with a library area set to views of the pool and hills beyond. Leading on into a laundry room which comes complete with washer and separate dryer, ironing facilities, vacuum cleaner, leaf blower and whatever else one might expect to find!

The sitting room, and each bedroom, has a brand new flat screen OLED TV with Direct TV Satellite including the best movie and sports channel packages. Netflix and HBO ready to go and itunes for renting movies, that will be recharged on check out.

Outside

The fully heated pool is operated by an Ozone system, giving it ultra-soft water with hardly any chlorine or salt present, so it’s great for your skin. The pool is finished in dark pigment and green tiles, which reflect the beautiful countryside around it. The pool area has 4 sleek loungers with mid-century style parasols and a day bed that ventures over the canyon on its own deck with the best view of DTLA and Hollywood. A sanctuary within a sanctuary.

Next to the pool is a gas and lava rock corten fire pit, with sofas and pouffes around it. To the side of the house, off the sitting room, can be found the outdoor dining area with a table for 8 – 10 people. This sits alongside a state of the art Webber outdoor kitchen and a delightful seating area underneath the pergola with climbers and flowers all around. Finally, an outdoor bar with 4 stools are ready to go, ideal for relaxing with a few friends for a drink while the BBQ fires up.

Around the house there are a wealth of areas to sit and enjoy the enormous views and wildlife of the park. There is a large lower deck set out as an outdoor living room, with sensational 180 degree views of the Griffith Park Observatory and the high rises of DTLA. The entire property is lit beautifully at night and festoon lights swag over the pool and outdoor dining area.

Accommodation

The large Master suite is bathed in light from a wall of windows overlooking the pool with fabulous downtown views. It is housed in its own wing of the house and comes with a great study area (complete with printer and various other useful items), an en-suite bathroom and dressing area. The suite windows and doors open on to its own terrace area and directly on to the pool.

There are two double guest bedrooms both with their own private terrace and outdoor furniture, with canyon views overlooking the vineyards and up towards the Hollywood Sign. Perfect for sundowners or a morning coffee. One has a ladder up to a two bed kids platform room, which is well stocked with arts and crafts, toys and games. There are two fitted twin beds and two small desks with chairs making it the perfect den.

Between the guest bedrooms is a brand-new luxury marble wet room with more breath-taking views across the hills. Both bathrooms come with toiletries and an abundance of new white towels. This unique room gets bathed in sunset light and is a delight to shower in, with such beautiful views.
